Be Holy - Truth & Knowledge

July 26, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 24 – “Be Holy” In this episode, Trey Knowles explains that to be holy means to separate ourselves from everything ungodly and to live fully aligned with God’s Word. Holiness is walking in the truth and goodness of Jesus Christ. Scripture says, “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). To live holy means refusing to watch, listen to, or approve of anything ungodly. As 1 Corinthians 13:6 declares, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” We are called to operate in God’s Spirit of love. If anyone claims, “I can’t be holy,” that is a lie—Christ was crucified not in vain, but to make us holy through His righteousness. Trey points to Titus 2:11–14, which teaches that the grace of God brings salvation and instructs us to say “no” to ungodliness, to live with self-control, and to eagerly pursue what is good as we wait for the return of Christ. Through Jesus, we are redeemed, purified, and set apart as His people. The key to holiness is abiding in Christ. As 1 John 2:5–6 says: “If anyone obeys God’s word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” Holiness, then, is not optional—it is our calling and our identity in Christ.

What is Written In Your Heart - Truth & Knowledge

July 20, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 23 – “What is Written in Your Heart” In this episode, Trey Knowles emphasizes that the Bible must never be altered, compromised, or overshadowed by the Constitution. Whatever governs our lives should never stand in opposition to the Word of God. If it does, then we become enemies of God’s truth. Trey reminds listeners that our loyalty must be to God above all else—not to the Constitution, not even to the Republic. James 4:4 warns: “You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world means enmity with God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” This raises a question: Is your allegiance to God, or to the Republic? The pledge of allegiance sounds noble—“one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”—but only if the nation truly lives under God’s Word. When laws embrace what is contrary to Scripture, the Republic itself becomes a stumbling block, aligning with wickedness rather than righteousness. How then can believers pledge allegiance to a nation that does not honor God? David declared in Psalm 119:11, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Jesus also commanded in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.” And 1 John 2:4 warns that anyone who claims to know God but refuses to obey Him is a liar, not living in the truth. So, does this make America a “false prophet” nation? That is left for each person to decide. Scripture is clear in 1 John 2:15: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.” The message is repeated: The Bible should never be altered or modified by the Constitution. Whatever governs you must align with God’s Word—or else you risk becoming an enemy of God. What is written in your heart?

Your Race Does Not Determine Who You Are - Truth & Knowledge

July 10, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 22 – “Your Race Does Not Determine Who You Are” In this episode, Trey Knowles reminds us that our race, culture, ancestry, or the world around us does not define who we are. True identity is determined by what flows from the heart—because what we value reveals who we are. As Jesus taught in Matthew 6:21: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart (passionately), all your soul (willfully), all your mind (thoughtfully), and all your strength (practically living like you love Him). When the Lord is in your heart, He determines who you are. Jesus declares in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me, you can do nothing.” Without Him, we cannot truly know who we are. But with Him, our identity is rooted in love, obedience, and fruitfulness.

Beneficial - Truth & Knowledge

July 02, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 21 – “Beneficial” In this episode, Trey Knowles teaches that what we value only has meaning if it can benefit and edify others. If we cannot share what we have in a way that uplifts, strengthens, and gives life, then what we value is ultimately worthless. Many of the world’s struggles come from misplaced values, because value is revealed through our willingness—and that willingness is shown in how we live. As Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:23: “I have the right to do anything,”—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. True value is measured in obedience to Christ, with a willingness that declares: Nothing can separate me from His love. What is truly beneficial is worth receiving, worth living, and worth sharing. God Himself extends this invitation in Isaiah 55:1-2: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters… Listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.” The Lord says: Come to Me. I am Beneficial. Value Me.

Benefical Sound

July 01, 2023

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

Even in laughter the heart may sorrow,

And the end of mirth may be grief.

The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways,

But a good man will be satisfied from above.

The simple believes every word,

But the prudent considers well his steps.  Proverbs 14:15

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:17

All things are lawful for me, I have the freedom to do, but not all things are helpful. So I will not do them. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be dominated by anything unless it is the will of God.

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Luke 6:46

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15

Being Blessed - Truth & Knowledge

June 28, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 20 – "Being Blessed" In Episode 20 of Truth & Knowledge, Trey Knowles explores the idea that being blessed means being holy. He explains that God's kindness and love are meant to lead us to repentance—a turning point where we choose to devote ourselves fully to God. According to Knowles, true blessing comes when we live a life that is consecrated and set apart for the Lord. He references Matthew 16:24-27, where Jesus tells His disciples that following Him requires self-denial, taking up their cross, and surrendering their lives—because in losing life for His sake, they truly find it. Knowles also cites Leviticus 20:26, where God declares, “You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.” In essence, Knowles emphasizes that holiness is both the calling and the blessing—it is how we walk fully in God's love.

Dwelling Place Flesh or Spirit - Truth & Knowledge

June 25, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 19 – "Dwelling Place: Flesh or Spirit" In Episode 19, Trey Knowles explores the idea that your dwelling place is not just where you live physically, but also what you choose to allow into your life—whether it's the desires of the flesh or the Spirit of God. He emphasizes that true life is found by walking in the Spirit of Jesus, which means living in obedience to Him. If we aim to please Jesus in how we live, we are walking in the Spirit. This teaching is rooted in Galatians 6:8, which says: “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” The “Spirit” here refers to the Spirit of Jesus. Living to please the Spirit leads to eternal life; living to please the flesh leads to destruction. Trey breaks down what the "acts of the flesh" are, as described in Galatians 5:19–21—things like adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, hatred, jealousy, rage, selfish ambition, murder, and more. These things are destructive and reflect a life centered on the flesh. In contrast, the "fruit of the Spirit" is found in Galatians 5:22–24—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities reflect a life surrendered to Christ. Those who belong to Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Ultimately, Trey teaches that your dwelling place—flesh or Spirit—is determined by what you choose to live in and what you allow to live in you.

Your Life Should be Walking

June 25, 2023

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Galatians 5:22

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:4

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. As I warned you before, I warn you that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide a way of escape, so that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Dwelling Place - Truth & Knowledge

June 14, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 18 – "Dwelling Place"
In this episode, Trey Knowles explores the concept of a dwelling place—not just where you physically live, but what you allow to dwell within you. Your dwelling place shapes your peace, direction, and ultimately your life. Trey emphasizes that obedience to God is where we are called to live; it is the spiritual home that brings life. According to him, we all face a choice: to dwell in life through Jesus, or to dwell in death by living contrary to His ways. Jesus Himself says in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.” This episode challenges listeners to reflect on where—and how—they truly live.

What are Idols?

June 14, 2023

False Idols- An idol can be a person or thing that is greatly admired, loved, or revered that is the opposite of what God truly represents in his word. Idols can also be an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. 2 Corinthians 6:16

Dedicated

June 07, 2023

Dedicated- (of a person) devoted to a task or purpose; having single-minded loyalty or integrity

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it" Matthew 10:37-39

Who is My Brother? - Truth & Knowledge

June 07, 2023

Truth & Knowledge: Episode 17 – "Who is My Brother?"
Episode 17 – "Who is My Brother?" features guest speaker Scott South, who explores the idea that our true brothers and sisters are those who do the will of God. Referencing Matthew 12:46–50, the episode reflects on a moment when Jesus, while speaking to a crowd, is told that His mother and brothers are outside wanting to talk to Him. Jesus responds by asking, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Then, pointing to His disciples, He answers, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” This powerful passage highlights the spiritual family formed through obedience to God's will.
