A Gun is not praise-worthy.

Why do I say that?

A Gun is a weapon of destruction that does not give life.

The use of having a Gun is to put an end to the existence of (something) by damaging it or attacking it.

Once a person defines what the subject is, that person should then decide if the subject is admirable.

Whatever is admirable to a person it becomes desirable to the person’s heart.

Gun is defined as a weapon of destruction, and if you live in the Spirit of Love how can you find a gun to be admirable or even praise-worthy?

The thought of having a gun is a violation of the spirit of love.

Why do I say that?
God who is love teaches us, to set our affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:8.

If I desire something of the world that does belong to my spirit which is the spirit of love then I am coveting.

Why do I say that because you shall not covet means that we should banish our desires for whatever does not belong to us? 

One would say I need to protect myself. I need a weapon. 
Sure we all need a weapon.  But the choice of weapon should bring death to life.

What do I mean by choosing the choice of weapon that brings death to life?  

Whatever is not of the spirit, we should put those things to death and bring them up with life with love by using the word of God as a weapon.


 The state of loving earthly possession, having, owning, or controlling something can bring trouble against ourselves.

What do I say? The reason why is whatever takes us out of the spirit is not worth protecting. 

Jesus teaches us. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20.

So with that said what do I need to protect?

The answer is my Spirit.

Some would say what about protecting my life.
If you are worried about protecting your life then live by the spirit. 

God tells us who created us. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” On the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:17-21.
Some would say no one is taking my guns away and that’s ok. I would say, therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
A gun is not praise-worthy or lovely so choose wisely.
