I'd Rather Be A Slave | by Life Coaching Speaker Trey Knowles

I’d rather be a slave than a slave of my own free will.
I can’t live a life without a Master.
I need a Master who can give me life, and who is life.

Why do I say such things, and what do I mean?

Listen. There is no direction without obedience, and I cannot direct myself.

Showing Obedience is showing honor by living up to the fulfilled terms of the commitment.

Have you heard the words from your parents, if you cannot abide by my rules you can’t live in my house?

If you are not walking in obedience in your parent’s house, you have decided to no longer live in that house, and not to honor your parents. So now you become a slave to your own free will.

A Slave that does not obey is a slave to himself and anything that masters that slave with no direction to life is simply lost.

Why do I say this? Reason, with no obedience, the blind cannot direct the blind.

When you are a slave to your own free will, you have no foundation and no direction. You become a slave to self-gravitation, and every subject will flood in and hold you captive to your willful desires.

No foundation leads a person to grow wild with the wind.

Why is that? No foundation means nothing has been a planet in that person.

Because without direction you don’t know what is right and what is wrong.

There is a way that seems right but it leads to destruction.
Without direction, people are simply blowing with the wind.

The parent’s job is to guide. If the parents are slaves to themselves then the parents cannot guide their children in the right direction. Why do I say that? The reason, the parents have no foundation and no direction. All directions must come from a good true pure substance of Life.

Who is life and who should we build our foundation? The answer is Jesus Christ.

Why?  Because Jesus Christ is the only one who came to earth and knows God and saw God and honored God, who is our father, who created all things. So Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life.  Jesus tells us this in John 14:6.

Jesus grace gives life and ignorance brings death.

Why do I say ignorance brings death? If there is nothing sow into that person. Meaning the person has never been taught. A  person is lost because of a lack of knowledge or disobedience.

Jesus sows the good seeds into us. When we listen to and obey Jesus, His spirit gives us life; His words and way give us direction and growth. Jesus sows the good seed to all who listen. The seeds are scattered among us.

Direction and obedience to direction are growth.
So I’d rather be a slave than a slave of my own free will.

Freedom comes by faith and leads by grace. 2 Timothy 2:1 tells us, you then, my brother and sisters, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Grace becomes our foundation through faith. Without a foundation, a person is broken, because there is nothing to hold that person together.

When a person is endowing qualities, by being obedient to someone they are standing on a foundation of faith.

By grace, I am set free. Without direction, I am a slave to my own free will.

Obedience allows me to be directed by grace by using faith.
I’d rather be a slave than a slave of my own free will. Because in the beginning, I was ready a slave, but now I have been set free.

Why do I say that?

The one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. 1 Corinthians 7:22.

Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Romans 7:25.

Because I choose to be obedient to Jesus Christ, I put to death my sinful self, so I may have life by his direction that is for me.
I’d rather be a slave than a slave of my own free will.

1 Peter 1:13-16 tells us. Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.  But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.

Yes.
I’d rather be a slave than a slave of my own free will.
